Now home to the School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, the Arthur Tufts House was constructed as the residence of Arthur Tufts, a friend of the Candler family hired by Asa Candler as the contractor for the first buildings on the Druid Hills campus.

Tufts lived in the house until his death from influenza and pneumonia in 1920. His widow lived there until 1940.
