Dwight "Ronnie" Weathers
Dean, School of Dentistry
1960C 1962D 1966D 1966DR
The last dean of Emory's School of Dentistry was in many ways its most important.
The year Dwight "Ronnie" Weathers took the job, 1985, was the year the board of trustees voted to phase out the school; the closing itself took place in 1992. In between, and for many years after, Weathers dedicated himself to keeping dental students and alumni connected to the University. That thousands of dental alumni have chosen to remain part of the community is testimony to his tireless work.
Weathers retired in 2010 after more than forty years on the Emory faculty.
