George H. Page

Host, PBS's Nature

1957C 1990H

The creator and executive editor of Nature, George H. Page hosted and narrated nearly 300 episodes of the long-running, two-time Emmy Award–winning PBS series.

Page began his broadcast career as a television journalist, reporting on the civil rights movement and other big stories for Atlanta's WSB-TV. He later served as war correspondent in Vietnam for NBC News.

Nature debuted in 1982 and remains on the air today, in part because Page's profound sense of wonder at the natural world became a guiding light for the series. Nominated for five Emmys himself, Page won one, for his executive production of the documentary Fred Astaire: Change Partners and Dance.
